John R. Campbell

John R. Campbell, 34, of rural Bloomfield, died at 11:11 a.m. Friday, October 16, at University Hospitals in Iowa City. He was transportation director of the Davis County Community School bus system.

The son of James A. and Patti b. Page Campbell, he was born in Hillsboro on Sept. 2, 1936. He had been a Bloomfield resident four years, and was affiliated with the Hillsboro Masonic Lodge where he was a past master. He was a member of first Presbyterian Church, Ottumwa, and the Hillsboro Eastern Star. He was a former member of the Iowa National Guard at Ottumwa.

He married Delores Mason on June 7, 1958, in Ottumwa. She survives as do one daughter, Shelley Lynne at home; his parents of Ottumwa; one sister, Mrs. Betty Everett of Ottumwa, and a grandmother, Mrs. Nellie Hess of Fairfield.

The service was at 1 p.m. Sunday, October 18 at Wagler Funeral Home. Services were conducted by the Rev. Louis Wollenberg of Ottumwa. Burial with Masonic rites was in I.O.O.F. Cemetery.

A memorial has been established payable to the Cancer Fund.
