Lottie Miller

BIRMINGHAM - Charlotte M. (Lottie) Miller, 86, died at 2:30 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 19 at Jefferson County Hospital. She had been in failing health one year, and in serious condition one month.

Born Oct. 12, 1883 at Birmingham, she was the daughter of David and Mary M. Spees Miller. She was a member of the Birmingham United Methodist Church.

Surviving are one brother, Quay of Birmingham; and two sisters, Rose Miller of Birmingham and Mrs. Ethel Johnson of Oskaloosa.

The service was at 2 p.m. Monday, Sept. 21 at Birmingham United Methodist Church conducted by the Rev. Dwight C. Bonham. Burial was in Maple Hill Cemetary.(sp)

Charlotte M. Miller

Charlotte Marie Miller passed away Saturday morning Sept. 19, 1970 at 2:30 A.M. at the Jefferson County Hospital after a lingering illness.

She was born on a farm near Birmingham, Iowa October 12, 1883, the daughter of David Albert and Mary Spees Miller. She has resided in this community her entire life where her many acts of kindness have been recognized throughout the community.

She has touched many young lives in the Methodist Church where she taught a Sunday School class for 50 years, and was awarded a life membership pin by the W.S.C.S., as a tribute to her faithful service.

She was a charter member of the American Legion Auxiliary and organized the County Auxiliary serving as the first county president.

She leaves to mourn her loss one brother Quay of Birmingham and Ethel Johnston of Oskaloosa, two nieces and six nephews. Two brothers and a sister preceded her in death.
