Frank Lunsford Dies

Frank Lunsford, 65, What Cheer newspaper publisher, died July 12, at his home. He was in the newspaper business 45 years and at one time published the Van Buren County Register in Keosauqua.

He was born June 5, 1905, the son of James and Lois B. Curtis Lunsford, at Maryville, Mo. On March 5, 1927 he married Corene Snygg at Maryville. Besides Keosauqua, he was associated with newspapers at Red Oak, Rockwell City, Denison, Knoxville, Wapello, Iowa and Albia, Nebr. He had also worked for the South Messenger News in Des Moines and the Thorpe Publications. He owned the Patriot-Chronicle in What Cheer the past five years.

Survivors are his wife; one daughter, Mrs. George Isaacs of Denison; one sister, Alvira Lunsford of Des Moines, and four grandchildren.

At his request, his body was sent to Iowa City for medical research.
