Claude Mehl

A former Donnellson area resident, Claude Mehl, 88, of Lynwood, Calif., died June 12 in a hospital in California after a lengthy illness.

He was born March 13, 1882 at Franklin, Iowa, the son of Henry and Elizabeth Well Mehl. He spent his childhood in Lee county.

He was a member of St. Peter's United Church of Christ at Franklin. In his early years, he was a telegrapher. He moved to California in 1952.

He married Minnie May Cullison on Sept. 10, 1906 at Crescent, Iowa. She died in 1956.

His only survivor is a daughter, Mrs. Nellie Lewis of Lynwood, California.

In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by one brother and two sisters.

The funeral service was held Wednesday, June 17, at 10 a.m. in Miller's Home for funerals in Donnellson with the Rev. Victor Engelmann officiating. Burial was in the Evanelical Cemetery.
