Cliff Story Died Suddenly Monday

C.M. Story died very suddenly from a heart attack Monday afternoon as he was sitting in his hotel lobby following some work out of doors. Mr. Story was 38 years and nine months of age when death occurred. He had not been in the best of health recently. The death was a shock to the community.
Prayer services are being held this afternoon from the Steffy Funeral Home at three o'clock with the Rev. Merton D. Wyatt, pastor of the Methodist Church in charge. Mrs. Burnell Haworth and Mrs. C. R. Byers will have the music.
Funeral services will be said in Farmington at the Methodist Church this Thursday afternoon, with burial at Montrose.
Mr. And Mrs. Story came here five years ago and operated the hotel, being gone for eight months of that time when Mr. Story was drafted.
Obituary
Clifford Merle Story was born August 15, 1908, at Farmington, Iowa. He was the oldest child of Lena Spurgin Story and and John H. Story, and left this world May 26, 1947, at 2:20 p.m. at the age of 38 years, 9 months and eleven days.
As a child, he grew to manhood in Farmington, where he was loved by everyone. On April 5, 1931, he was united in marriage to Elsie M. Jacobs at Monmouth, Ill. One daughter, Doris, was born to this union, both of whom survive him.
In May, 1942 he with his family moved to Montezuma and took over the Allison Hotel and last September purchased this place of businesss at which they have been very successful.Cliff was loved by everyone who knew him and he was never happier than when surrounded by family and friends and will be greatly missed. he was deeply devoted to his wife and daughter and loyal to his friends.
Left to mourn his passing are his devoted wife and daugher, Doris Marie; his father and mother Mr. and Mrs. John Story of Farmington, one sister, Mrs. Fred Bregenzer of Keokuk; besides a host of other relatives and friends.
