Floyd E. (Bud) Barnett

Mr. Floyd E. (Bud) Barnett, 55, of Hillsboro died suddenly at his home late Tuesday evening.

Mr. Barnett was born May 23, 1914 at Keosauqua, Iowa, the son of Benjamin F. and Priscilla Huffman Barnett. He was united in marriage August 6, 1936, to June Pratt in Keosauqua.

Mr. Barnett was self-employed as a painter and carpenter, and was a life time resident of the Hillsboro community.

Survivors include his wife, June, one daughter, Mrs. Earl (Nancy) Griffin, and one granddaughter, Penny Kay Griffin, all of Hillsboro; one brother, Ray of Hillsboro; four sisters, Mrs. Phyllis Marshall of Hillsboro, Mrs. Vera Heisel and Mrs. Choloe Warrington of Stockport, and Mrs. Eva Marshall of Libertyville.

His parents and two brothers, Harl of Trenton, Mo. and James of Salem preceded him in death.

Several nieces and nephews and a host of friends survive.

Services were held Friday, July 25 at 2 P.M. at the Hillsboro Christian Church, Rev. Levi Winfrey officiating. Music was provided by Mary Ross. Casket bearers were C.F. Hoaglin, Craig Smart, Robert Moothart, J.M. Dodds, Leslie Hoaglin, Milon Ross. Honorary bearers were L.T. Harlin, Arlo Foss, Phil Hixson and Byron Church.

Interment was in the Hillsboro Cemetery. Arrangements were by Beatty Funeral Chapel, Salem.
