Etta Watson

Mrs. Etta Watson, 88, a resident of the Stockport Community for over 65 years, died at 2 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 3, at the Moore Nursing Home in Stockport. She had been in failing health for some time.

Funeral services were held Friday at 2 p.m. at the Big Cedar Christian Church northeast of Stockport with the Rev. Chester C. Werft officiating. The body is at the Weston Behner Funeral Home in Fairfield.

Born Jan. 29, 1880, in Missouri, Etta Watson was the daughter of Oscar and Mary Etta Barger Turner. She was married to Sylvanus S. Watson on Feb. 26, 1903. He preceded his wife in death on Feb. 15, 1965. Mrs. Watson was a member of the Big Cedar Christian Church.

Survivors include the following sons and daughters: Robert Watson, Fairfield; William Watson, Apopka, Fla.; Mrs. Ava Litton, Omro, Wisc., Arlo Watson, Stockport; Mrs. Mary Burnett, Danville; Floyd Watson, Hollywood, Fla.

She is also survived by 17 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. She was preceded in death by one brother and two sisters.
