Mrs. Nancy J. McManis

Mrs. Nancy J. McManis, 87, Eldon, died at 4:20 P.M. Wednesday, Oct. 16 at the Ottumwa Hospital where she had been a patient for the past two weeks.

Nancy J. McManis was the daughter of Samuel and Alinda Meek Foster, born March 10, 1881, at Bonaparte. On March 6, 1904, she was married to Carl McManis at the home of her parents near Cantril.

A member of the Cantril Christian Church, she and her husband spent most of their lives in the Cantril and Selma Communities. He died in 1948 and Mrs. McManis moved to Eldon in 1964.

Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Leonard Wells, Eldon; one son, Col. Thayne McManis, San Antonio, Texas; four grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, Mrs. McManis was preceded in death by one son, one brother and three sisters.

Funeral services were held at 2 P.M. Saturday at the Pedrick Funeral Home in Douds with the Rev. Earl Manning in charge. Burial was in the Maple Grove Cemetery at Cantril.
