JULIA HADASSAK GARES

Mrs. Julia Hadassak Gares, 68, of Kahoka, Mo. died Saturday, Nov. 9, in Graham Hospital, Keokuk, after becoming ill earlier in the day in a store in Keokuk.

Born Aug. 9, 1900, in Chambersburg, Clark County, Mo., she was the daughter of James H. and Nellie Bennett Nixon.

She was married to George W. Gares on Febraury(err) 19, 1920 and he survives.

Also surviving are two daughters, Miss Lola Gares of Ft. Madison, Mrs. Cecil (Velda) Zollars of Keosauqua; three sons, Harold and Clifford of Kahoka and Hilbert of Monroe City, Mo.; 14 grandchildren; three daughters-in-laws and one son-in-law; one sister, Miss Jessie Nixon of Kahoka, Mo.; two brothers, Howard of Kahoka and Guy of Revere.

She was a member of the Kahoka Methodist Church, the WSCS and the American Legion Auxiliary.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Arthur and Russell, one grandchild, David Gares and an infant daughter.

Funeral services were held on Tuesday, Nov. 12, at 2 p.m. in the Methodist Church with the Rev. D. Hubert Lowes officiating. Burial was in the Anson Cemetery.
