MRS. CHESTER P. BARKER

Halle Skinner, daughter of Dick and Mertis Stong Skinner was born January 27, 1887 near Birmingham, Iowa.

She was married Sept. 19, 1907 to Chester P. Barker of Mt. Zion, Iowa. Their entire 61 years of marriage were spent in the Keosauqua vicinity.

She passed away Sept. 28, 1968 at the Van Buren County Memorial Hospital after an illness of many years.

Surviving her in addition to her husband is a half-brother, Lloyd George Skinner of Moline, Ill., and a niece, Mrs. Ralph Clark of Davenport, Ia. Also many other relatives and a host of friends.

She will always be remembered for her words of cheer, often expressed in verse of her own composition, to the ones she loved so well.

The funeral was held Tuesday, October 1, 1968 at the Mt. Zion Presbyterian Church. It was conducted by Rev. Millard Marshall of Keosauqua, Iowa.

Music was by Wayne Miller, soloist and Mrs. Florence Campbell at the organ.

Burial was at Miller's Chapel Cemetery near Mt. Zion, Iowa.
