Vernie Aaron Conner

Funeral services for Vernie Aaron Conner, 74, was held Sunday, Sept. (18), at the Milton Christian church, with James D. McKean, officiating. Burial w as in the Sunnyside Cemetery.

Conner died Thursday A.M., Sept. 12, en route to Van Buren Memorial Hospital, Keosauqua, after being struck by an automobile while crossing highway 2 in front of his home.

He was a member of the Milton Church, the K-P lodge and had spent most of his life in Milton.

He was born Feb. 11, 1894, the son of Aaron and Mary Hubbard Conner, who preceded him in death in 1918.

In 1943 he was married to Emma Paris, who survives, and is a patient in the Silver Haven Nursing Home in Bloomfield. He is also survived by one daughter, Mrs. Yonna Hudson of Milton; two step-children, Henry Paris of Milton and Mrs. Helen Hull of Denver; two brothers, Karl Conner, Milton, and Ralph, Tacoma, Wash., also 11 grandchildren.
