MRS. IVAN MITCHELL

Mrs. Helen Mitchell, 43, of Bonaparte died Thursday, Sept. 22, at 3:15 a.m. in Van Buren County Memorial Hospital, Keosauqua. She had been ill 5 months and in the hospital 3 weeks.

She was born April 6, 1923 at Sigourney, the daughter of Pete and Ludgardis Stuegel Osweiler.

On Jan. 30, 1946 in Farmington she married Ivan Mitchell, who survives. She spent her entire life in Bonaparte except for 5 years in Keokuk county.

She was a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church, Farmington, and its Altar and Rosary Society, and the American Legion.

Besides her husband, she is also survived by one daughter, Carole Louise; four sons, Donald Roy, Matt and Mark, twins, and Tod, all at home; four sisters, Mrs. Harvey Tedrow of Des Moines, Miss Lucille Osweiller, Chicago, Mrs. Mervin Klees, Burlington, Mrs. John Benjamin, Lancaster, Pa.; one brother, Roger Osweiler of Burlington; and her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Pete Osweiler of Bonaparte.

She was preceded in death by one brother and two sisters.

The funeral service was held Saturday, Sept. 24, at 11 a.m. in St. Boniface Catholic Church, Farmington. The Rev. Anthony Geerts officiated. Burial was in Thompson cemetery, southwest of Bonaparte. The Rosary was recited Friday at 8 p.m. in the Carl Wilson Reposing Home, Bonaparte. Miller's Home For Funerals in Farmington was in charge of arrangements.
