MRS. K.C. POLING

Mrs. Kenneth C. Poling, 48, died at 2 a.m. Saturday, July 16 at University Hospitals in Iowa City, where she had been a patient since suffering burns in a chickenhouse fire at her farm home four miles southwest of Selma on June 2.

Doris Leone Poling was born April 22, 1918, at Brush, Colo., the daughter of Charles and Edna Wilkins Thomas. She moved to Memphis, Mo. as a child and later to Troy community. She was married Feb. 25, 1936 to Kenneth C. Poling. They lived on farms in Illinois and Granger, Mo. before moving to Davis County in 1950 and to the present farm home in 1956.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her mother, Mrs. Charles Thomas of Bloomfield; nine daughters, Mrs. Sherry Sumner, Mrs. Wanda Zeitler, Ottumwa, Mrs. Connie Crosier, Panama City, Fla., Mrs. Bonita Drake, Inlet Bay, N.Y., Mrs. Marlynn Davis, Libertyville, and Darlene, Sheila, Lila and Charlotte at home; two sons, Charles and Jan at home; six sisters and three brothers.

She was a member of the Christian Church at Iowa City.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday, July 18 at the Pedrick Funeral Home in Douds. Burial was in Maple Hill Cemetery at Cantril.
