BRUCE REX VALE

Bruce Rex Vale, son of Benjamin Rex and Julia Biddle Vale, was born at Bonaparte, Iowa, on March 30, 1888 and passed away at his home Hillsboro Wednesday morning, May 11, 1966, following a severe heart attack.

He attended school at Bonaparte and was a member of the graduating class of 1907.

Later he attended Iowa State College at Ames, obtaining his degree in Animal Husbandry in 1913.

On August 20, 1914 he was married to Emma Nicholson in Williams, Iowa.

His entire life was devoted to the farm in Harrisburg Twp. where they lived until his retirement in1958, when they moved to Hillsboro to make their home.

An absorbing interest of his retirement years was research in Southeastern Iowa history.

He was a member of the Presbyterian Church in Bonaparte and of Belmont Lodge A.F.&A.M. in Hillsboro.

He is survived by his wife, Emma; a niece, Mrs. Vale Winslow of Bonaparte and a nephew, Rex Roberts of Groton, Mass.

He was preceded in death by his parents and three sisters.
