Ottumwa, Iowa, Tuesday, October 11, 1977

JAMES PRATT

STOCKPORT - James Pratt, 97, of rural Stockport and formerly of Utica, died Oct. 10, at 5:20 p.m. at Jefferson County Hospital in Fairfield.

He was born June 8, 1880, in Utica to Porter and Adeline Johnston Pratt. He had been a merchant in Utica, worked at Iowa Ordinance Plant in Burlington, operated a threshing run in the Utica area and worked for Van Buren County. He married Mary Grace Kisling who died in 1934.

Survivors: son Earl of Stockport; daughters Edith Parsons of Birmingham, June Barnett of Hillsboro, and Mary Story and Ruth Clark, both of Stockport; 14 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, five great-great-grandchildren; and a brother, Ira Pratt of Stockport.

Services: 2 p.m. Thursday at Stockport United Methodist Church, the Rev. David Kennedy officiating. Burial: Dibble Cemetery south of Stockport. Visitation: at Burch Funeral Home in Birmingham Wednesday, 7-8 p.m.
