Rites Set For Haney

DOUDS - Last rites for Roscoe Haney, 62, longtime Douds resident, will be held Friday at 2 p.m. at the Pedrick Funeral Home in Douds.

The Rev. Gerald Caughron and the Rev. Donald Strauch will officiate, and burial will be in Leando Cemetery.

Haney was found dead at his home Wednesday morning after he had failed to show up for work at the usual time at the Pedrick Hardware and Furniture Store in Douds.

Roscoe Haney was born Oct. 28, 1911, near Douds, the son of Roy and Eva Marshall Haney. He spent his entire life in the Douds, Selma and Lebanon Communities.

He graduated from the Douds High School in 1930. In his earlier years he assisted his parents in operating the telephone exchange at Lebanon and Douds. Later he was employed at Finney's Grocery Store in Douds, and for the past 15 years at the Pedrick Store.

Haney was secretary of Starlight Lodge No. 350, K of P; a member of Douds Temple 104 Pythian Sisters; Van Buren Lodge No. 350, IOOF at Selma; and Douds Community Club.

Survivors include a sister, Mrs. Marian Heckart, Ottumwa, and three nieces.
