Madeline Lewis
SELMA - Mrs. Madeline Lewis, 55, of rural Selma died Monday at 2:30 p.m. at Davis County Hospital in Bloomfield. She had been in failing health for several years.
Born Jan. 26, 1920, to Dan and Viola Pyle Brown at Bidwell, she attended rural school there. she married Kenneth Lewis Oct. 12, 1940, at Blakesburg.
Besides her widower survivors are four daughters, Mrs. Sharon Franklin of Keosauqua, Mrs. Sandra Phillips of Washington, Mrs. Jerri Crane of Floris and Mrs. Jerri Crane of Floris and Mrs. Linda Shackleford of Selma; four grandchildren; one brother, Daniel Brown of Ottumwa; and four sisters, Beulah Beghtol of Selma, Edna Shute of Fairfield, Frances Shute of Fairfield, Frances Scott of Ottumwa and Ina Headlee of Fremont, Mich.
The service will be Thursday at 10 a.m. at the Pedrick Funeral Home in Douds with burial in Fellows Cemetery at Keosauqua.
