EDNA L. HOUSESHELDT

Edna L. Houdesheldt, daughter of Eugene and Hedwig Waldo Morrison, was born July 6, 1912, in Oak Park, Illinois, and departed this life Monday, September 22, 1975, at the Van Buren Good Samaritan Center in Keosauqua at the age of 63.

As a young adult she moved with her family to the Lebanon community and later moved to Keosauqua.

On June 8, 1940, she married J. Wesley Houdesheldt at Kahoka, Missouri. He survives. Also surviving are a son, Charles of Fairfield, and daughter-in-law Judy, a brother, Eugene Morrison, Jr., of Green Top, Missouri, other relatives and many friends.

Edna was an active member of the Keosauqua Congregational Church, had been employed at Van Buren Community School, and was active in various other community organizations through out the years of her residence here.

She will be remembered as a devoted wife and mother, a good neighbor, and a true friend.

Funeral services were held Thursday September 25, 1975, at 3:30 p.m. at the Keosauqua Congregational Church with the Rev. Harold Schnedler, pastor, officiating. Mrs. Harold Jamison was the soloist and Mrs. Ethel Carnahan the organist. Pall bearers were Paul Bollinger, Dr. C.R. Perkins, Robert Reed, Norwood Teal, Jack Dorothy, and Roy Oakman. Interment was in the Purdom Cemetery. Arrangements were in charge of Pedrick Funeral Home.
