FRED WIRT

Fred Wirt, 74, died at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 16, at his home on Burlington Rt. 2.

The son of Henry and Carrie Bernhart Wirt, he was born September 2, 1900, in Des Moines County. He married Marie Heckenberg, September 6, 1928, in Burlington.

Mr. Wirt was a retired farmer. He was a member of the Kingston United Methodist Church.

Surviving: The wife; two sons, Kermit, Stockport, and Merlin, Burlington Rt. 2; six grandchildren; two brothers, Frank, Burlington, and James Sr., Burlington Rt. 2; and two sisters, Pearl Campbell, Burlington Rt. 2, and Lucy Schnicker, New London.

Funeral was at 2 p.m. Friday at Lunning Chapel, Rev. Rodney Bennett; Memorial Park Cemetery. A memorial has been established at the chapel for the Kingston Church.
