HAROLD C. (Jack) STAGERS

Harold C. Stagers, 48, former Douds, resident, was killed in a car accident July 6, at Mammouth Springs, Arkansas. At the time of his death, he was the owner-operator of the Ace Appliance Repair Shop in Arkadelphia, Ark. He had served during World War II, the Korean and Vietnam Wars and retired as a master sergeant after 23 years in the U.S. Army. Following his retirement, he was the ROTC instructor at Henderson College in Arkadelphia. He was a charter member of the Green Berets.

Mr. Stagers was born March 13, 1927. He is survived by his widow, Berta Stagers of Arkadelphia; his mother, Mrs. Hazel Kinzle of Waterloo; his father, Beryl Stagers of Douds; a sister, Mrs. Betty Topping of Birmingham; a brother, Dale Stagers of Sparks, Nevada; one niece and four nephews.

The funeral was held July 10 at Murray-Reynolds Funeral Home in Arkadelphia, with burial at the National Cemetery in Little Rock.
