MRS. MINNIE BRUGGEMAN

Mrs. Minnie Jo Bruggeman, 83, widow of Carl Bruggeman, former Farmington postmaster, died at 1:25 a.m. Monday, May 26, at Van Buren County Memorial Hospital, where she had been a patient for a month.

The daughter of John and Elsie Washburn Kutcher, she was born November 11, 1901, at Kahoka, Missouri. She and her parents moved to Farmington where she attended public schools. She taught school in several Iowa communities and retired from the Harmony Community system in 1966.

On June 13, 1942, she married Mr. Bruggeman at Kahoka. He died in 1957.

Surviving: Two stepsons, John Bruggeman, Rock Island, Illinois, and Carl Dean Bruggeman, Keosauqua; a stepdaughter, Mrs. Carolyn Jo Thayer, Deloraine, Tasmania, Australia; 12 step-grandchildren, and a sister, Mrs. Vera Gray, Keosauqua.

She was a member of the Keosauqua branch church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and had served in several different offices in her church.

Funeral was 2 p.m. Wednesday, at the Keosauqua Latter Day Saints church, Elder Ford Gano. Burial was in Green Glade cemetery, Farmington. A memorial has been established for the Cancer fund.
