MRS. JOE BARKER

Mrs. Joe M. (Ida Belle) Barker, 89, died at 10:00 p.m. Friday, August 23, at Van Buren County Memorial hospital in Keosauqua, where she had been a patient since Wednesday.

A life resident of Van Buren County, she was born January 15, 1885, near Utica to Judson H. and Jennie Teal Keck. She married Mr. Barker in Keosauqua February 4, 1903; he died in 1966. She was a member of Keosauqua United Methodist church and American Legion auxiliary.

Surviving are a sister, Mrs. Ruth Diekmann, Glen Ellyn, Calif.; a brother, Warren Keck, Keosauqua; three grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, six great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday at the Keosauqua United Methodist church, with the Rev. John Cornish officiating. Burial was in Oak Lawn cemetery. A memorial has been established to the church. Pedrick funeral home was in charge.
