WILLIAM JOHNSON

William Benton Johnson, 72, of Bonaparte, died at 11:20 a.m. Friday, Aug. 16 in Van Buren County Memorial hospital, following a lengthy illness.

Born Oct. 15, 1901 in Custer county, Nebraska, he was the son of Leslie Benton and Addie Mae Lindsay Johnson.

Mr. Johnson farmed in the Bonaparte area all of his life and moved to town in 1957.

Surviving: Three brothers, Leslie, of Petaluma, Calif.; Joseph E., of Farmington, and John L., Burlington; two sisters, Florence Darling, Portland, Ore., and Mrs. Mary Lowe, Bonaparte.

Funeral services were at the Presbyterian church, Bonaparte, Rev. Scott Holmes; Bonaparte cemetery.
