HARRY BONNETT

Harry S. Bonnett, 77, well known former resident of the Fairfield Community, died Tuesday Oct. 16, in Ottumwa. He had been in failing health since suffering a serious injury in a fall at his home about 1 1/2 years ago, and seriously ill for approximately three weeks.

Harry Samuel Bonnett was born August 13, 1896, at Birmingham, the son of Charles and Matilda Wade Bonnett. On June 28, 1919, he married Hazel Belle Fuqua at Kahoka, Mo. She survives.

Also surviving is a son, Marvin Eugene Bonnett, Holts Summitt, Mo.; two grandsons and several great grandchildren; and a sister, Mrs. Lessie Yerion, Libertyville. A daughter died in infancy.

Harry Bonnett was a long time employee of the C.B.&Q. Railroad and a veteran of World War I. He was a member of the American Legion, Eagles, and the Brotherhood of Railroad Workman.

The family lived in the Fairfield area for a number of years, and for a time lived in what was known as "Reed's Castle", an area landmark well known to many earlier residents. He retired in 1961.

Burial was in Evergreen Cemetery in Fairfield.
