Roy Joseph Krouse

Roy Joseph Krouse, 61, of Farmington died at 7:50 a.m. Sunday, July 22 at his home in Farmington after a five months illness. He was born Dec. 9, 1911, at Bentonville, Ark., the son of David and Bettie M. Jones Krouse. On March 9, 1936 at Keosauqua he married Vera N. Cole. She survives.

He moved to Farmington from Missouri in 1969 and was employed at the Iowa Army Ammunition Plant at Burlington.

Besides his wife, he is survived by five sons, Jimmie of Keosauqua; Donald, Agency; Junior, Luray, Mo.; Jackie and Joe, both of Farmington, and one daughter, Mrs. George (Ann) Mercer, Keosauqua; one brother, Harold Krouse, Framington; eight sisters, Mrs. Russell Pitney and Mrs. Warren Manning, both of Farmington; Mrs. Cecil Shearer, Mrs. Raymond Hite, and Mrs. Billy Carroll, all of Kahoka, Mo.; Mrs. John Butler, Luray, Mo.; Mrs. Lloyd Van Patten, Ukiah, Calif., and Irene Krouse, Des Moines and ten grandchidlren. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers.

The funeral service was held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 25, at the Farmington United Methodist Church with the Rev. Edward Maus officiating. Burial was in Greenglade cemetery, Farmington. Miller-Hofbauer Funeral Home at Farmington had charge of the service.
