Mrs. Vissa Bentzinger

Mrs. Vissa Belle Bentzinger, 77, died at 3:45 p.m. Sunday, April 22 while visiting at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Juanita Lee, at Libertyville. She was attending a 25th wedding anniversary celebration for her son Floyd and his wife Shirley.

She was born June 14, 1895 at Vesta, Nebr. to James and Lida Reed Clark. She married Samuel Paul Bentzinger Sept. 15 at Vest Nebr. Mrs. Bentzinger was a member of the Argyle Presbyterian church. She was preceded in death by her husband, four brothers, a son and a daughter.

She is survived by three sons, Floyd of Independence, Richard of Mt. Pleasant, Walter of Mt. Sterling; two daughters, Mrs. Juanita Lee of Libertyville and Mrs. Geneva Bealmer of Peoria, Ill.; 19 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

The funeral was held at 1 p.m. Wednesday in the Keosauqua United Methodist Church with the Rev. James M. Ford officiating. Burial was in the Harness Cemetery at Mt. Sterling.

Her six oldest grandsons served as pallbearers. They are Terry Belamer, Roger Waldren, Jerry Bentzinger, Rick Bentzinger, Randy Bentzinger and Michael Lee.

Catcott Funeral Home had charge of arrangements.
