Harlan D. Beggs, 83, Birmingham, died Thursday noon March 22 at the Riverside Nursing Home in Bonaparte where he had been a patient the past three weeks.
Last rites were Saturday, March 24, at 2 p.m. at the Burch Funeral Home in Bimingham with the Rev. Millard Marshall in charge. Burial was in Maple Hill Cemetery.
Harlan D. Beggs was born Oct. 17, 1889, near Pittsburgh in Van Buren County, the son of Robert and Etta Wilson Beggs.
He was married to Grace Porter who preceded her husband in death Dec. 8, 1968.
Beggs is survived by the following brothers: Craig, Bonaparte; Lea, Hot Springs, Ark.; Dwight, Chapman, Kansas; and a half-brother, Hazen, Ottumwa.
He was preceded in death by three brothers and one sister.
