Mrs. Minnie Mercer

Mrs. Minnie B. Mercer, 82, died at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 2, at Van Buren County Memorial Hospital in Keosauqua where she had been for two days.

She was born Jan. 5, 1891 at Pittsburg, the daughter of Ed and Emma Martin Carruthers. She married Clyde Mercer in September, 1907. He preceded her in death.

She is survived by a son, Carl of Des Moines; a daughter, Mrs. Edna Jackson of Dallas, Texas; one grandchild; four great grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Bea Kendall of Saratoga, Wyo., Mrs. Erma McCarty and Mrs. John McCarty of San Francisco. She was also preceded by three sisters.

The funeral was held at 1:30 p.m. Monday, Feb. 5 at the Catcott Funeral Home in Keosauqua, with the Rev. James M. Ford officiating. Burial was in Oak Lawn Cemetery at Keosauqua.
