Mrs. Ethel Fitzgerald

Mrs. Ethel I. Fitzgerald, 84, died early Wednesday, Jan. 24, at her home in Keosauqua.

She was born Aug. 22, 1888, at Mt. Sterling, the daughter of George L. and Viola Pettit Harden. She married Ray C. Fitzgerald June 2, 1915 at Mt. Sterling.

She was a member of the Keosauqua Christian Church, the Golden Age Club and the Van Buren County Historical Society.

She is survived by her husband and several cousins. A 5 1/2-year-old son died in 1922. She was also preceded in death by two brothers and one sister.

The funeral was held at 1:30 p.m. Friday at the Keosauqua Christian Church with the Rev. Raymond Lyon officiating. Burial was in the Harness Cemetery at Mt. Sterling. Catcott Funeral Home had charge of arrangements.

Mr. and Mrs. Fitzgerald lived for 40 years near Chicago, and later returned to a farm at Mt. Sterling where they spent 10 yrs. They had resided in Keosauqua the past year.
