REGUR, LAZENBY, HIGDON, MUIR, WORKMAN

Mrs. Fay R. Regur

Mrs. Fay R. Regur, 77, died at 9:45 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 25, at Van Buren County Memorial Hospital where she had been for nine days. She had been in failing health.

She was born Sept. 16, 1895 in Keosauqua, the daughter of Grand and Stella Lazenby Higdon. On March 28, 1917 she married George Regur in Keosauqua. He died in 1970.

She was an active member of the Keosauqua Christian Church for 65 years and a 50-year member of Eastern Star. She also belonged to the Delphian Study Club and had been active in 4-H work. She was one of the first recipients of an honorary 4-H membership.

She is survived by a son, Leonard of Little Rock, Ark.; a daughter, Mrs. Mary Muir of Keosauqua; a brother, Lee Higdon of Greenwood, Ind.; a sister, Mrs. Mary Workman of Savannah, Ga.; a brother-in-law, H.C. Regur of Fredricktown, Mo.; five grandchildren and four step-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters and a brother.

The funeral was held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 28 at the Keosauqua Christian Church with Raymond Lyons officiating. Burial was in Fellows Cemetery. Catcott Funeral Home in Keosauqua had charge of the arrangements.

Memorial funds have been established at the Keosauqua Christian Church and with the American Cancer Society.
