EDWARD J. KOEHLER

Funeral services for Edward J. Koehler, 56, Montrose rural route, were held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 3, in St. Joseph's Catholic church, Montrose.

The Rev. Philip Cardenzana officiated. Burial was in Sacred Heart cemetery, Fort Madison.

Mr. Koehler died at 10:45 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 30, in Veterans hospital, Iowa City.

Mr. Koehler was born Jan. 12, 1916, in Fort Madison and was a lifelong resident of the area. He owned and operated Eddie's Tap in Montrose.

On Oct. 27, 1938, in Montrose, he married Hazel Harman, who survives.

Mr. Koehler was a member of St. Joseph's church of Montrose, the Veterans of Foreigh Wars and the Fraternal Order of Eagles.

Besides his wife, he is survived by his mother, Mrs. Christine Koehler, Canton, Mo.; a son, John Koehler, Montrose; three daughters, Mrs. Ronald (Mary Ann) Krogmeier, Fort Madison, Mrs. Roger (Sandra) Helling, Hillsboro, and Mrs. Garry (Teresa) Schiller, Argyle; a brother, Wilbert Koehler, Fort Madison; a sister, Mrs. Charles (Ann) Buschling, Canton, Mo.; and nine grandchildren and several nephews and nieces.

He was preceded in death by his father, Henry Koehler.

A memorial has been established with the American Cancer Society.
