Ray E. Parish

Ray Edison Parish, 66, of rural Mt. Sterling, died suddenly at his home at 9:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 27. He was a retired farmer and worked in the Mt. Sterling elevator.

He was born Jan. 4, 1906 near Mt. Sterling to Ross and Arinsie Parsons Parish. He married Merle Kerr Jan. 31, 1931. He spent his entire life in Clark County, Mo., in the Mt. Sterling area.

He is survived by his widow; two brothers, Elmer of Bloomfield and Charles of rural Arbela; two sisters, Mrs. Lucy Chamberlain of Mt. Sterling and Mrs. Grace Adams of Bloomfield. He was preceded in death by his parents and five brothers.

The funeral was held Saturday, Sept. 30 at the Mt. Sterling United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Dale Church officiating. Burial was in Harness Cemetery at Mt. Sterling. Catcott Funeral Home, Keosauqua, had charge of arrangements.

Ray Edison Parish, 66, of rural Mount Sterling, Iowa, died suddenly at his home Sept. 27, 1972. He was a retired farmer and worked at the Mt. Sterling elevator and feed store.

He was born Jan. 4, 1906 near Mount Sterling to Roswell and Artinsie Parsons Parish. His entire life was spent in the Asbury Community, which is in Clark County, Missouri. He married Muriel Kerr Jan. 31, 1931.

He leaves to mourn his passing his widow; two brothers, Elmer of Bloomfield and Charley of rural Mount Sterling; two sisters, Mrs. Lucy Chambers, also of rural Mount Sterling and Grace Adams of Bloomfield; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many, many friends.

He was preceded in death by five brothers.

Funeral services were held Saturday, Sept. 30 at the Methodist Church in Mount Sterling with the Rev. Dale Church officiating. Burial was in the Harness Cemetery.
