Ray Morris

Ray Morris, 87, Memphis, Mo., died at 1 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 26, at the Scotland County nursing home following a long illness.

The son of James Henry and Henrietta Kirkhart Morris, he was born in Stockport, Iowa, Aug. 28, 1885. He married Della Mae McGee, Nov. 15, 1905, in the home of her parents in the Brock neighborhood. She survives.

Mr. Morris was a retired farmer. He was a member of the Brock United Methodist church.

He is also survived by one son, James of Memphis; two daughters, Mrs. Milton (Winifred) Schuck of Fairfield, Ia. and Mrs. Leonard (Velma) Gieseker of Rockford, Ill.; one brother, Glen of Cedar Falls, Ia.; one sister, Mrs. Ruby Reese of Toledo, Ohio; eight grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.

The funeral service was held at 2 pm. Thursday, Sept. 28, at the Payne Funeral home. The Rev. Michael Barrett officiated. Interment was in the Milton, Iowa cemetery.
