Ellis S. Humbert

Funeral services for Ellis Scott Humbert, who died July 31, were held on Aug. 2. Burial was in Rest Land Cemetery in Dallas, Texas.

The son of Scott Lee and Sarah Taylor Humbert, he was born March 2, 1908 in Milton. He graduated from the Milton High School in 1927 and attended Drake University in Des Moines, State Uiversity(sp) at Iowa City and Southern Methodist in Dallas, Texas.

He was married to Dorothy Drew in 1927, who survives. They moved to Dallas, Texas State Highway Department for 35 years. He was a member of the First United Church in Richardson, Texas, where he was living at the time of his death. He had been ill since February when he underwent brain surgery.

His survivors besides his widow, are Lee Drew Humbert of Farmers Branch, Texas, Miss Sue Humbert of Richardson, Sharon Humbert Shaw of Dalla; three granddaughters and three grandsons; two sisters, Mrs. Ethel Snyder of W?????, ??? and Mrs. Gail Workman of Dallas; two nieces, Mrs. Gail Adams of Elmonte, Calif. and Mrs. Malcom Wente of Whittier, Calif.

He worked in his church filling many offices and was a Boy Scout leader for many years.
