Mrs. Luemma Sadler

Mrs. Luemma Jane Sadler, daughter of henry and Louisa Johnston Van Steinburgh, was born May 31, 1885, at Winchester and departed this life Thursday August 24, 1972, at the Holden Nursing Home in Keosauqua at the age of 87. She was the last of her family. Most of her life was spent in the Lebanon community.

On November 12, 1905, she was married to Kerns Sadler, who preceded her in death in 1920. A grandson also preceded her in death. Remaining to cherish her memory are a son, George, and a daughter, Mrs. Lela Shipley, both of Keosauqua, six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren, other relatives and many friends.

Mrs. Sadler was a member of the Lebanon United Methodist Church. She will be remembered as a devoted mother and grandmother and a true friend.

Funeral services were held Saturday, August 26, 1972 at 2 P.M. at the Pedrick Funeral Home in Douds, with the Rev. Millard Marshall of Keosauqua officiating. Kathleen Pedrick was the organist. Pall bearers were Ralph Arnold, Raymond Rider, Howard Shipley, Paul Johnston, Dee Megrath, and Don Crowe. Interment was in the Lebanon cemetery.
