POOLE, WALLENWEBER, MARSHALL, PONTE

Mrs. Fern E. Poole

Mrs. Fern E. Poole, 63, Memphis, died at 8 p.m., Thursday, August 3, at the Davis County hospital, Bloomfield, Ia., following several years illness.

The daughter of Elliott and Edith Wallenweber Marshall, she was born in Farmington, February 6, 1909. She was married to Harry E. Poole, February 8, 1930, at Keosauqua. He survives.

Mrs. Poole was a member of teh Carter Chapter No. 107, OES, and was a Past Worthy Matron. She was a past president of the VFW.

She is also survived by two sons, Robert, Keokuk; Russell of the Marine Corps, based at Norfolk, Va.; one sister, Mrs. Edna Ponte, Farmington; one brother, Ernest Marshall, Revere; her father of Farmington; and seven grandchildren and step grandchildern.

She was preceded in death by her mother and one brother.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., Saturday, August 5, at the First Baptist church of Memphis. The Rev. Ernest Deatrick and the Rev. Howard Merchant officiated. Interment was in the Memphis cemetery. The Payne Funeral home ws in charge of arrangements.
