Earl Jasper Stair

Earl Jasper Stair, 75, of Farmington rural route, died unexpectedly at 11:45 a.m. Monday, Aug. 7, en route to a hospital.

He was born Aug. 16, 1896 at Drasco Ark. The son of Ell and Nellie Johnson Stair. He spent his childhood at Drasco.

He married Jo Ann Cannon. She preceded him in death. He later married Dorothy Cecil Estin, a resident of Farmington, on Dec. 20, 1953 at Galesburg, Ill. She survives.

A resident of Farmington area since 1949, he was a farmer and retired stave mill manager.

In addition to his widow, he is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Ather Shaddox of Harrison, Ark., Mrs. Pauline Grimes of East Moline, Ill.; two step sons, David Estin, Farmington, and Rex Estin of Arbela, Mo.; two step-daughters, Mrs. Dorothy Overby of Waukegan, Ill. and Mrs. Shirley Schaplowsky of Wichita, Kansas; four brothers, Carl Stair of Dallas City, Nebr., Richard Stair of Drasco, Ark., Dewey Stair of Heber Springs, Ark., Clyde Stair of Conway, Ark.; seven grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, his parents, one son, two sisters.

The funeral service will be Thursday, Aug. 10, at 2 p.m. at Miller Hofbauer Funeral Home in Farmington. The Rev. Gary Worsham will officiate. Burial will be in Greenglade cemetery, Farmington.
