Steven "Steve" Lee Younker joined his mother, father, and older brother in heaven on July 20, 2018 in Temecula, California after an extended illness. Steve was born August 26,1950 in Milton, Iowa to Cleo "Jeff" Gerald Younker and Esther Margaret Younker. He attended and graduated from Fox Valley High School in 1968. In 1968 he joined the United States Navy and served four years. He was stationed in San Diego, California and served on the USS Samuel Gompers as a welder. Steve was a very accomplished welder and mill wright and was one of only a handful of people to be certified to weld on the nuclear power plants on naval submarines. He continued in that field working for General Atomics in San Diego, California for the next 30 years. He was highly respected in the industry by both employers and employees.
He was prededed in death by his mother Esther Margaret Grinstead Younker, his father Cleo Gerald Younker, and his oldest brother, Gerald "Jerry" Younker. He is survived by his wife Leslie Younker, two daughters, Tara Younker, Lysha Younker Weston and husband George Weston and two granddaughters Ava and Ella Weston and 3 sisters Carole Younker Reeves, Mina Younker Robertson, and Martha Younker Sullivan, 3 brothers, Phillip Younker Sr., Donald Younker and wife Shirley, and Bruce Younker and wife Luann and by nephews Mark Younker, Rodney Younker, Phillip Younker Jr., Brian Gobeli, Bill Reeves, Anthony Robertson, Lance Robertson, Joshua Sullivan and Ethan Sullivan and by nieces, Kriss McGraw, Kimberly Brunko, Karla Trabon, Joni Reeves, Amy Watkins, Dana Cromwell and Laurie Keyeszg
