Harley E. Perkins

Harley E. Perkins, 79, of Farmington, died July 4 at 6:15 p.m. in the Holden Nursing Home at Keosauqua after a lengthy illness.

He was born June 7, 1892 at Bonaparte, the son of Frank and Emma Perkins.

He married Lillian Hornbaker of Bonaparte on June 12, 1912 at Keosauqua. She survives.

A retired farmer, he spent 49 years on the same farm near Farmington.

In addition to his widow, he is survived by two daughters - Mrs. Joe (Ruth) Grossman of Argyle and Mrs. Robert (Pearl) Barrow of Keosauqua; one brother - Clyde Perkins of Bonaparte; nine grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, three sisters.

The funeral service will be held Wednesday, July 7, at 2 p.m. in the Farmington United Methodist church. The Rev. Edward Maus will officiate. Burial will be in Green glade cemetery at Farmington. The body is at the Miller-Hofbauer Funeral Home at Farmingotn.
