Hazel Baird

Milton - L. Hazel Baird, 91, Milton, died at 9:49 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 26, 1987, at the Van Buren Good Samaritan Center in Keosauqua.

She was born June 11, 1896 to Albert and Lydia Hoskin Higgins in Sac County. She was a member of the Milton United Methodist Church, Chapter AD of the PEO. She served several years as Milton City Treasurer, worked in the former Citizen's Bank of Milton and at the State Savings Bank in Milton and Cantril for 30 years. She married Clay Baird on Jan. 5, 1932 in Lancaster, Mo. He died in 1956.

Survivors include a cousin, Helen Boyd, who was raised in the Higgins' home.
