Herman Fred Bachman

Herman Fred Bachman, 74, route 4, Bloomfield, died Sunday in Iowa City.

He was born in Pulaski on Dec. 22, 1908 to Charles and Elise Leichty Bachman. A lifetime Davis County resident, he was a farmer and sold farm chemicals. He was affiliated with the Pulaski Mennonite Church.

He married Irma Countryman June 13, 1930 near Douds. She survives.

Other survivors include two sons, Fred Bachman of Iowa City and Ed Bachman of Bloomfield; two daughters, Ermaleen Etter of Leola, Penn. and Evaleen Bertsche of Chenoa, Ill.; one brother, Oscar Bachman of Milton; one sister, Alice Evans of Ukiah, Calif.; 12 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

The funeral service was at 2 p.m. today at the Pulaski Mennonite Church. The Rev. Roy Kaufman, the Rev. Paul Bohi and Pastor Bob Peterson conducted the service.

Burial was at the Pulaski Cemetery at Pulaski.

Memorials have been established to M.C.C. Hunger Fund, Pulaski Mennonite Church or the Cancer Fund.

The Wagler Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
