Emily Baggott

Emily S. Jack Baggott died at Mesa Medical Hospital in Mesa, Ariz., Nov. 6, 1985. She had been in ill health for several years.

She was born Aug. 10, 1893, in Apolla, Pa. to Lewis Thomas and Carrie Belle Scotten Jack. They moved to the Mt. Sterling area when she was a child. She was a homemaker and a retired telephone operator. She and her husband, Will, operated a restaurant in the Milton area for several years. After his death, she moved to Mesa with her son Norris, in 1951.

She is survived by a son, Norris and wife Jerri of Mesa, two grandchildren, and five great grandchildren, two sisters, Mildred Cassady of Ft. Madison and Edna Newbold of Boone, two brothers, Darrell Jack of Bonaparte and Paul Jack of Keosauqua.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William, a daughter, Carolyn, who died at birth, her parents, Lewis and Carrie Jack, five brothers, D.W., Ren, Merrill, Howard and Harry, two sisters, Zelda Jack Thompson and Pearl Jack Dill.

Graveside services were held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 9, 1985, at Sunnyside Cemetery in Milton, the Rev. Charles Butler officiating.

A memorial has been established to the United Methodist Church at Milton.

Wagler Funeral Home in Bloomfield, was in charge of arrangements.
