MARY A. ATKINS

Mary Alice Atkins, daughter of Harry and Daisy Wilson Atkins, was born August 7, 1907 south of Milton and died the night of Saturday, March 10, 1990 at Van Buren County Memorial Hospital, Keosauqua at the age of82.

She lived her life in the Milton community except for brief periods in Bloomfield and Keosauqua until moving to the Van Buren County Care Facility north of Keosauqua in 1987.

She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church, Milton, Vesper Circle of United Methodist Women, and had a record of perfect attendance at Sunday School for a number of years.

Mary was happiest when at work in her church or doing a good turn for someone.

Surviving are a sister, Helen Lunsford and her husband Glen of Milton, a nephew, Jerry Lunsford and his wife, Joyce and two great nephews, Tony and Curt Lunsford, all of Fremont, eight cousins, other relatives and many friends.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, March 13, 1990 at 2:30 p.m. at Grace United Methodist Church, Milton with Rev. Andrew Rubenking officiating. Memorials were established for her Sunday School Class and Vesper Circle, United Methodist Women, and may be sent in care of Pedrick Funeral Home, Keosauqua.
