Elmer Dean Aldridge, 87, of Fort Madison, died January 5, 2018, at The Madison in Fort Madison, IA.

He was born on January 3, 1931, in Terre Haute, IL, the son of Elmer and Hattie Collis Aldridge.

Elmer was a jack-of-all trades and could do anything he set his mind to. Throughout the years he had been a hired hand for several farmers and also did carpentry work. He enjoyed tinkering with cars and dancing.

Elmer is survived by two sons, Ernest Aldridge of Fort Madison and Harold Aldridge of Missouri, one daughter, Shirley McDaniel of Missouri, nine grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and friend, Leila Hancock of Farmington.

At this time there will be no visitation or services.

The Vigen Memorial Home in Keokuk is assisting the family with arrangements.
