Helen G. Ashmead

Helen G. Ashmead, 77, 404 E. Walnut, Bloomfield, died Sunday at the Davis County Hospital.

She was born in Davis County on Feb. 26, 1904 to Ellsworth and Bertha Miller Hill. She was a member of the Bloomfield Church of the Open Bible.

On March 22, 1924, she married Fred Ashmead. He survives.

Also surviving are three sons, Stuart of Rantoul, Ill., Benson of Des Moines, and Del of Bloomfield; 14 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two sisters, Henrietta Ensminger of Troy, Dorothy Hutchings of Des Moines; and two brothers, Herbert Hill of Bloomfield and Harlan Hill of Fairfield.

She was prceded in death by one daughter, Willa Lee Wickel; one brother, Franklin Hill; and a sister, Martha Wellborn.

Funeral services were held today at the Priester Funeral Chapel, conducted by the Rev. Gordon Fisher. Burial was in the IOOF Cemetery.

A memorial has been established to the Bloomfield Church of the Open Bible.
