Carl Andrews

PULASKI - Carl V. Andrews, 78, of Pulaski died at 3:05 p.m. Nov. 24, 1992, at Van Buren Good Samaritan Center in Keosauqua.

He was born Feb. 14, 1914, in Urbana, Mo., to Ray and Pearl Franklin Andrews. He married Selma Payne on April 23, 1938, in Keokuk.

He lived most of his life in Milton, where he was a partner in Andrews & Strait Hardware and later operated Andrews Surge Service, a milking machine business. He retired to Hermitage, Mo., and moved to Pulaski in 1991. He was a member of United Methodist Church, Masonic Lodge and Lions Club. He served as fire chief, water commissioner and city councilman in Milton.

He is survived by his wife, a daughter, Annita Hockersmith of Pulaski; a son, Michael of Burlington; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mary Brown of Edgerton, Kan., and Martha Morrison of Humasville, Mo.; and six brothers, Harold of Oceanside, Calif.; Vincent of Floral Park, N.Y.; John of Vista, Calif.; Joe of Bellflower, Calif., Rolland of Milton, Roscoe of Sarcoxie, Mo.

The service will be 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Pedrick Funeral Home in Keosauqua, the Rev. Richard Iles officiating. Burial will be in Sunnyside Cemetery in Milton.

Open visitation will begin at noon today at the funeral home, with the family present from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Masonic services will be at 7 p.m. Friday.

Memorials may be left at the funeral home.
