Vorhies rites

LOCKRIDGE - Services for Carroll Vorhies will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Augustana Lutheran Church in Lockridge. The Rev. Lenwood Monte will officiate and burial will be in Vorhies Cemetery east of Lockridge.

Visitation will be from 7 to 8:30 this evening at the Behner Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the First Augustana Lutheran Church.

Vorhies, longtime businessman in Lockridge, died Friday morning at his home in Lockridge.

He was a native of Lockridge and spent his entire life in the Lockridge Community where he and his wife were farm impliment dealers for 50 years. He was a member of the First Augustana Lutheran Church.

Carroll D. Vorhies, 73, was born July 31, 1911, in Lockridge. He was the son of Edgar and Della Simmons Vorhies. He married Esther Hollander Sept. 4, 1934 in the Lockridge Parsonage. She survives. The couple celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in September this year.
