Rites Sunday for Mary Poole

STOCKPORT - Services for Mary M. Poole, 84, will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Stockport Christian Church with the Rev. Richard DeVore officiating. Burial will be in Spencer Cemetery near Stockport.

Visitation will be from 7 to 8 p.m. Saturday at Behner Funeral Home in Fairfield. Memorials may be made to the Stockport American Legion Auxiliary.

Mrs. Poole died at 10:03 p.m. Wednesday the Van Buren Memorial Hospital in Keosauqua.

She was born Aug. 18, 1899, in Green Castle, Mo. she was the daughter of Franklin and Sarah Frances Nishop Doze.

Her marriage to Floyd E. Heston took place Nov. 23, 1919, near Birmingham. She married Bruce Poole Sept. 23, 1942, in Kahoka, Mo. He died Feb. 24, 1980.

Mrs. Poole lived most of her life in the Stockport Community. She worked as secretary and weight-mistress at the John Stout stone quarry for a number of years. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and Stockport Christian Church.

Survivors include a daughter and two sons: Julia Anderson, Stockport; Jack Heston, Gulfport, Miss., and Bud Heston, Stockport; two step-daughters adn a step-son, Maxine Veatch, Stockport; Audrey Smith, Burlington; Roger Heston, Birmingham; ten grandchildren and 12 step-grandchildren along with a number of great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two step-sons, an infant son, three brothers and a sister.
