Gladys Miller

Services for Gladys H. Miller, 80, of 827 Bank St., who died Tuesday in Keokuk Area West Hospital, will be held at 2:30 p.m. Friday in the DeJong Funeral Home with the Rev. Merlin J. Ackerson officiating.

Burial will be in the Cantril Cemetery.

A memorial has been established with the Trinity United Methodist Church.

Friends may call after 2 p.m. today.

Born Dec. 13, 1899, at Azen, Mo., she was the daughter of George D. and Nellie Hughes Robbins. She married Earl Miller in 1922 in Donnellson.

From 1929-1933 she was the postmaster in Cantril, and then served two terms as Recorder of Van Buren County. She moved to Keokuk in 1938 and became co-owner of Robbins and Miller Maytag Store with her father and brother.

She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary, Pythian Sisters, a 50-year member and Past Matron of Cantril Chapter, No. 437, O.E.S. and was formerly active in B.P.W.

Survivors include brother Frank R. Robbins of Keokuk.

She was preceded in death by a sister.
