William O. Coleman

William Otto Coleman, 93, Rural Route 2, Fort Madison, died Friday, Aug. 24, at his home. He had been in failing health for six months.

He was born Aug. 22, 1886, near Mt. Pleasant. He had been a Lee county resident for the past 58 years.

He was a retired farmer. He was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist church.

He married Stella Ann Jacobs on March 22, 1921, in Chicago, Ill. She preceded him in death March 31, 1976.

Survivors include a son, Wendell Coleman of Burlington; a daughter, Mrs. David (Wilma) Krishinger of York, Pa.; three brothers, Bryan Coleman of rural Hillsboro, Stephen Coleman of rural Mt. Sterling and Theodore Coleman of rural Mt. Pleasant and a sister, Mrs. Mark (Marie) Orndorf of Mechanicsville,, Iowa. Five grandchildren, five great grandchildren, three step great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive.

Besides his wife, he was preceded in death by a son, two daughter, a brother and two sisters. His parents were Theodore Daniel and Sarah Elizabeth Coleman.

Funeral arrangements are pending at the Barr Memorial Chapel where friends may call anytime after 9 a.m. Sunday.
